ISSUE

Some older applications still require Java 7 and will not run on Java 8 or later.

APPLIES TO

Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022, 2025

CAUSE

Oracle ended support for Java 7. Newer Java versions are not compatible with many legacy applications, so a temporary downgrade is sometimes required.

RESOLUTION

These older Java 7 installers are provided only for backward compatibility.
Whenever possible, use the latest supported Java release for security.

HOW TO INSTALL

Download the needed version from the DNS Texas [Download Center]:
- jre-7u45-windows-i586 (Java 7 Update 45 – 32-bit)
- jre-7u60-windows-i586 (Java 7 Update 60 – 32-bit)
- jre-7u80-windows-i586 (Java 7 Update 80 – 32-bit)
Run the installer and follow the prompts.
